Houston Police Department & Houston Family Violence Unit

The goal of the Houston Police Department and Houston Family Violence Unit is to investigate cases that occur within the Houston city limits. The Houston Family Violence Unit takes a threefold approach: train the police officers, educate the public, and investigate domestic abuse crimes.

Houston Women’s Crisis Center

Since 1977, the Houston Area Women’s Center has provided survivors with immediate access to medical attention, access to safety, and shelter. Their Survivor Empowerment services help survivors live economically independent and self-determined lives. Their services include counseling, a 24-hour hotline, and assistance for child victims of crime and/or witnesses.


Harris County Domestic Violence Coordinating Council

The Harris County Domestic Violence Coordinating Council works with local law enforcement agencies and organizations to offer support for victims of domestic violence in Houston.


Family Time Crisis Counseling Center

The Houston Area Women’s Center helps individuals affected by sexual violence and domestic abuse. FamilyTime’s mission is to provide services and programs to the community, promote safety, and support the prevention of domestic violence.
